CR:710B Personal Noise Dosemeter

The CR:710B is an advanced Personal Noise Exposure Meter, or Dosemeter. The measurement functions that are provided by the instrument have been designed to meet the requirement of industrial Noise at Work regulations and standards such as the EC Directive 86/188/EC.

The design of the CR:710B allows it to be carried in a pocket or on a belt with the microphone mounted close to the ear. The case is made from metal which provides greater protection from damage than instruments with plastic cases.

The CR:710B stores a single measurement, which is stored in the instrument, and can be either downloaded to a PC or the results viewed on the instrument display. The unit also stores the current set-up and calibration information which is important when producing a report of a measurement. The measurement can be as long as is required by the operator. When the measurement has been completed, the operator can review the measurements by pressing the functions on the keypad. The standard configuration provides the following measurements: Measurement Duration, Peak(C), Maximum Sound Level, % Dose, LEP,d, LAeq

CR:701B Data Logging Personal Noise Dosemeter

The instrument can store up to 255 individual measurements of unlimited duration. The measurements can be started and stopped manually, or can be programmed to occur automatically using the supplied 700Setup for Windows software.

Each measurement can have many different parameters, such as Leq, Peak(C), Max, Min, % Dose, LEP,d etc. The information is stored in a simple format which can be printed directly from the software, or can be copied into other applications such as a word processor. In addition to these measurements, the CR:701B can store a time history, or noise profile throughout the measurement period. This data can also be downloaded using the 700Setup for Windows program, but requires the additional Acoustic Editor for Windows software to allow analysis of the data.

A range of accessories is available for the CR:701B. The instrument is also available as a complete measurement kit.

CR:701B & CR:710B Personal Noise Dosemeters
The CR:701B and CR:710B Personal Noise Dosemeters are traditional style noise dosemeters where the microphone capsule is attached to the unit via a cable.

Two different version of these instruments are available and these are detailed below. (doseBadge Reader pictured in middle)

doseBadge Personal Noise Dosemeter

The doseBadge is the unique way to measure Occupational and Industrial noise exposure. Different to a traditional Noise Dosemeter, the doseBadge has no cables or buttons, and is controlled, via an InfraRed link, from the RC:110A Reader unit.

The doseBadge has no buttons or controls and is contained in a robust metal case which prevents damage to the unit. The doseBadge logs, measures and stores noise data throughout the measurement and this data is downloaded to the Reader unit for review and analysis.

By eliminating cable and controls from the doseBadge, the user can be sure that the person being measured cannot have tampered with the measurement and that the data is valid. The CR:110A version of the doseBadge has been designed to meet the needs of the new EU Physical Agents (Noise) Directive as well as a range of other noise measurement standards.

These new features also allow the doseBadge to be used to comply with a range of measurement guidelines and standards including ISO, OSHA & OSHA HC, US DOE, ACGIH and US ACHPPM.

Applications for the doseBadge Personal Noise Dosemeter

Measurement of Personal Noise Exposure
Assessing and Monitoring noise in the workplace
Ensuring compliance with Noise at Work regulations
The doseBadge is usually supplied as a complete measurement with a number of doseBadges which ensures that all of the components needed to use the system are supplied. doseBadge kits can be expanded by adding further doseBadge units and charger units and the RC:110A Reader unit will support up to 255 individual doseBadges.

The CR:110A doseBadge system is supplied with the RC:110A Reader Unit, which is required to use all of the new features and functions that have been added to the CR:110A doseBadge.

The new RC:110A Reader unit can be used with the previous versions of the doseBadge, including the CR:100B and CR:100A doseBadge, although the functionallity is limited by the doseBadge.

The CR:110AIS (below), is also available with ATEX, EEx, IECEx, MSHA & SABS Intrinsic Safety

The CR:110AIS is a version of the CR:110A doseBadge Personal Noise Dosemter with Intrinsic Safety Certification. The CR:110AIS carries ATEX and EEx approval for both Group II (Non-Mining Applications) and Group I (Mining Applications). In addition, the CR:110AIS also carries SABS Approval for use in South Africa and also MSHA Certification.

The CR:110AIS also carries an IECEx Certification for Explosive Atmospheres for both Mining and Non-Mining Applications.

The CR:110AIS differs from the standard CR:110A version in that it has a gold coloured case and the base plate is marked with the ATEX and EEx Certification Information.

The CR:110AIS has the same performance and specifications as the standard CR:110A version of the doseBadge, but has several significant differences to allow it to carry the ATEX and EEx certification. Please refer to the CR:110A doseBadge for details of the acoustic measurements provided.
